RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Inclusion Project Officer, the tasks & responsibilities of the Inclusion Assistant are as follows:
1. Technical support to field partners 10%
• Collaborates with the inclusion technical officer and field partners to ensure timely and quality project implementation to meet age, disability and gender inclusion target.
• Support field partners/participate in assessment of barriers and facilitate access of persons with disabilities/older persons to access livelihood opportunities.
• Help field teams identify, difficult cases to collaborate on jointly and schedule of field visits.
• Support field teams in adapting livelihood implementation and action plans to difficult cases of persons with disabilities/older persons.
• Help partners adapt materials/equipment/livelihood tools and environment so that persons with disabilities/older persons can work more easily.
• Support field partners to guarantee correct identification of persons with disabilities/older persons and referral to services.
• Help partners give individualised support to persons with disabilities and their families in livelihood activities.
2. Beneficiary support/ Case Management 20%
• Assess the difficulties and facilitators for the beneficiaries to implement the livelihood activity they are involved in
• Identify the type of support needed, based on the assessment and involving the beneficiary (participatory approach), referral, ergonomically devices, reinforce beneficiaries’ self-esteem and relative’s supports, tools adaptation, environment adaptation and method adaptation
• Provide summary for each beneficiary case and discuss it with the IL TA
• Ensuring follow-up visits to beneficiaries for implementing the tailored support and update the case summary accordingly.
• Conduct accessibility assessments and collect any information needed by the Accessibility TA
• Encourage and motivate People with injuries/disabilities and older persons to participate in the livelihood activities.
3. Reporting and representation 10%
• Weekly/monthly report required or upon request.
• Coordination meetings with HI team in Syria and regular Skypes with SILO in Turkey
• Ensure regular collection of stories/data on lessons learned on inclusion in livelihood to be shared with the Inclusion technical officer.
4. Inclusion in livelihood trainings 25%
• Provide inclusion trainings to partners’ staff and stakeholder who work in the livelihood field.
• Train partners on specific inclusion strategies, tools and techniques.
5. Logistics, admin and HR – 5 %
• Respecting compliance with logistic, admin and HR processes;
• Anticipating the logistics needs and communicating to the Inclusion Technical Officer regarding suppliers and services, movements, etc.
• Raise the logistical needs to the inclusion technical officer.
6. Awareness sessions: 30%
• Provide community awareness sessions and stakeholder sessions to the community and our stakeholders about Disability and ageing in Syria, barriers for PWD, Rights of PWD, Abilities of PWD and Work and Disability.
QUALIFICATION/ REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
• Educational Degree in Physical therapy or occupational therapy
• 2 to 3 years of experience with Physical therapy or occupational therapy
• Computer proficiency
Preferred:
• Experience in training
• Prior experience in NGOs/INGOs
• Previous experience with Handicap International would be an asset
Professional & Personal skills required:
• Good communication skills with people of various educational backgrounds
• Ability to multi-task and take decisions on priorities
• Good writing and reporting skills
• Independent and able to choose priorities
Languages:
• Arabic and (English Language is preferred)
