Title:          PSS Coordinator          
Location:  Qah
Department:   Protection
Reports to:  Protection Coordinator         

OVERVIEW:


Ensure Delivery of Quality PSS Activities
• Responsible for the planning and execution of PSS activities at GH’s Community Center in Qah, in consultation with Protection Coordinator.
• Supervise and manage PSS team in Qah, including PSS Case Management Officer, PSS Counselors and PSS Community Workers.
• Provide technical oversight, and ensure capacity building of the PSS team, through trainings, case reviews, experience sharing etc..
• Oversee the implementation of PSS activities and ensure activities are in line with GH’s PSS Framework, including awareness-raising/education sessions and support groups focused on topics such as mental health, GBV prevention, parenting, child protection, life-skills, etc.
• Provide observations, input, and feedback to the PSS and Case Management Consultant to ensure the development of high quality SOPs, guidelines, assessment tools etc.
• Support thetimely information sharing regarding challenges and needs at the field level
• Train PSS team and protection teams on case management, Psychological First Aid (PFA), and other relevant trainings as needed.
• Contribute to the development of PSS intervention curriculum, community engagement plans, and associated materials, PSS assessment tools etc
• Collaboratively set up, monitor and develop community based non-specialized MHPSS activities.
• Support PSS team to provide integrated mental health and protection case management and psychosocial support to vulnerable individuals and families and complete appropriate case documentation, in coordination with Protection Coordinator.
• Support the development of internal and external referral pathways to strengthen links to available services for MHPSS and Protection more generally, including regularly updating service mappings. Coordinate regularly with other teams within the Protection department, WASH, Shelter and FSL for integrated activities and comprehensive services.
• Work as part of a team alongside GBV and CP Case Management Officers  serving communities in camp and non-camp settings, primarily in Idleb governorate.
• Maintain program files and documentation as per program management minimum standards, including maintaining the confidentiality and security of MHPSS client data at all times.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all PSS activities as per GH and donor requirements
• Perform other duties as necessary, as assigned by the supervisor.
Organizational Representation and Community Outreach
• Develop plans for community outreach and identification of families and individuals in need of psychosocial support services that fit within GH’s target population.
• Coordinate with community leaders and camp management to ensure access to target communities.
• Participate in PSS/Protection coordination meetings at the field level
Essential criteria:
• Bachelor degree in the relevant discipline
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the humanitarian sector.
• 2 years’ experience delivering or overseeing protection/psychosocial support activities, community outreach and mobilization, case management, and referral pathways.
• Experience working with survivors of SGBV and other populations experiencing a lack of social protection and social inequalities.
• University degree in social work, psychology, or related field, a plus.
• Counseling experience and/or experience providing psychological first aid a plus.
• Strong belief in human rights and gender equality.
• Good interpersonal skills including the ability to gain trust and build relationships.
• Arabic language proficiency is required and knowledge of English language is an advantage Good computer skills.
• Team management experience required
• Ability to work in a stressful setting and adapt quickly to changing environments.
