Senior GBV Program Officer-TR0010122-Gaziantep

Job Purpose

The Senior GBV Program Officer is responsible for all aspects of technical project implementation, including the preparation, planning, organization, coordination and relations with members of the protection sector and local and international partners as well as the documentation for all the steps to implement the project related to the technical side of the project.

The scope of the work includes close coordination with technical team and technical side of the project that’s mean working with team supervisors, technical trainers, consultant, cluster meeting and other NGO/ING; also include the development on IhsanRD guidelines and follow-up the implementation of curriculums and evaluate the processes and the approach, and act as the gender focal point IhsanRD for all IhsanRD departments.

Key Responsibilities


  • Work on a holistic GBV program to be implemented in and around WGSS in the areas of the project targeting GBV survivors or at risk of violence.
  • Participate in the development of the basic GBV tools and resources, GBV information materials, and PSS activities for women and girls in target communities, and support their implementation.
  • Monitoring field work and support GBV workers to implement work timely, and ensure reaching to all beneficiaries to GBV program and ensuring strict adherence to the GBV guiding principles.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all services available to GBV survivors and vulnerable women and girls to initiate, oversee and ensure proper use of the referral pathway in the provision of case management services, and ensure tools are in place and active follow up on referred cases to ensure timely response.
  • Lead case review meetings with case workers and case conferencing meetings on as needed basis to troubleshoot more complex cases and ensure best support for the survivor.
  • supervise all GBV activities in WGSS and Manage GBV teams and follow-up the team performance
  • Ensure training and ongoing capacity building opportunities for staff regarding technical skills and Provide learning sessions to the technical team
  • Ensure that all GBV Workers have specific and clearly-communicated tasks and roles in the center.
  • Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
  • Work on guidelines for the implementation of GBV activities in and around the project static centers.
  • Realize and write reports and provide inputs on GBV gaps and trends and for technical sections for project proposal.
  • Work on guidelines for the implementation of GBV activities in and around the project static centers.
  • Provide technical support to maintain high quality program inputs and outputs in the Protection / GBV in program implementation
  • Provide technical support to new program development, including assistance in conducting assessments, etc.
  • Assign tasks & duties to Protection / GBV field staff regarding monthly work plans
  • Manage and assist in implementation of work plans for GBV and protection related activities in coordination with the Project manager and/or Senior Program Manager.
  • Oversee, supervise and manage the performance of all project sits implementing GBV prevention activities
  • Ensure the adoption of minimum standard required in and out centers were the activities are implemented.
  • Build project staff capacity in the term of GBV in single and integration activities.
  • Provide regular internal trainings to the staff involved in GBV prevention and response activities
  • Respect and apply all the PSEA principles, and show high commitment to report any SEA action.

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
  1. Essential:
    • Bachelor degree in arts or literature, psychosocial support, socio-economic, Business Administration, International Development, Community Development or related discipline.
    • 2 years of professional experience in development and implementation of GBV protection programming, preferably in Syria crisis.
    • Very good level in both English and Arabic


  1. Desirable:
    • Advanced university degree (Master degree or equivalent) in psychosocial support, socio-economic, Business administration, International Development, Community Development or related discipline
    • Three years of professional experience in in development and implementation of GBV protection programming, preferably in Syria crisis.
    • Excellent level of both English and Arabic.
