GLOCAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION: 

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Community-based Project Officer, the Social Worker will: 

• Support HI’s multisectoral field teams to assess, refer and follow-up cases. The successful candidate will be accountable for the personalized support including assessing, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating actions required to meet the beneficiaries’ needs and expectations.

 • Monitor and contribute to the development of HI referral pathway within HI technical teams internally and externally.

 • The social worker is a key position to establish and uphold relations to the community, assess in a participatory way and provide guidance around the direction of the personalized support intervention. The beneficiary and their consent thereby stay in the center of attention and active participation thereby, like the co-construction of the action plan, is necessary. 

• Handling sensitive cases and follow up are required.

 • Close interaction with HI’s project teams is required. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

 DESCRIPTION

1. Support effective personalised support: • Coordinate and provide case management that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and beneficiaries-centered • Handle case assignments, draft action plans, review case progress and determine case closure with the persons concerned and the partners

• Facilitate multiple care aspects (case coordination, information sharing, etc) • Help beneficiaries make informed decisions by acting as their advocate regarding their multi-sectoral needs and how to meet them

 • Interact with beneficiaries to keep track of their progress and to ensure satisfaction and their well-being 

• Record cases information, complete accurately all necessary forms and produce statistical reports respecting anonymity, data protection and security rules

2. Contribute to the continual revision and development of HI’s referral pathway within HI multi-sectoral interventions and with external services providers:

• Contribute to the development of already existing referral system and tools

• Contribute to the process of updating the service mapping tools

• Work as focal point to receive referrals from external organisations and ones from HI’s multisectoral interventions

• Liaise with the relevant project officer over any case to be referred internally to the teams

• Implement community assessment in a participatory manner and inclusive manner (gender, age and disability)

• Support design of community assessment report

• Establish and hold good relations with the community incl. community leaders and representatives

3. Internal and external reporting:

• To fill out relevant and necessary paper-based or electronic tools

• To provide periodic reports whenever needed

4. Security:

• Observe at all times strict commitment to HI Security & Safety regulations as per procedures in place

5. Ethics:

• Shows professional ethics

• Respects beneficiaries’ privacy and confidentiality (he/she only shares information with relevant persons/ actors directly involved in the beneficiaries’ care).

QUALIFICATION/ REQUIREMENTS:

1. Education

• University Degree preferably in psychosocial Counselling, Sociology, Law, Health branch, or any related branch.

2. Languages:

• Basic English skills required

3. Experience: Mandatory:

• 1-2 years of experience in case management or personalized support.

• At least one year of experience in dealing with sensitive cases and safe referrals and follow-up.

4. Skills: Professional skills

• High level of communication skills, ability to listen and open-mindedness

• Experience working for an NGO within the humanitarian sector preferable Knowledge in:

• Knowledge around social protection; GBV; intersectionality; protection risks vulnerable groups and persons with disabilities

• Familiarity with humanitarian and protection related technical guidelines and standards

• Experience in protection, GBV, Child Protection and/ or Disability inclusion and relevant frameworks are be an advantage.

• Skills around implementation of a community assessment and development of relevant tools (FGD, KII, stakeholder mapping, etc.) and understanding of the context on the ground

• Ability to establish community relationship and obtain it

• Experience in participatory methods and person cantered approach

• Knowledge of national social policies (access to rights)

• Profound knowledge around data protection and respect of anonymity

• Working knowledge of how to use Microsoft Office including Word and Excel 5. Other/General:

• Good reporting skills

• Flexibility and ability to move and work in different sites in Idleb governorate.

• Flexibility, ability to work with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural people.

• Able to cope and work in considerably stressful environment.

• Good time management and task management skills.

• Able to work independently and with autonomy, while following objectives and instructions

• High level of diplomacy, cultural sensitivity and security awareness

• Adheres to the project’s vision: a world in which the rights of people with disabilities are respected and applied.
