Vacancy Announcement Job Description:

Job Title: CHW Field Medical officer.

Duty Station: Qah.

Application Closing Date: 30 May 2022 till 4:00 P.M.

Role and responsibilities:

The Community Health Worker officer is responsible for assisting the health Manager and senior medical officers in ensuring the smooth operations of the Community Health Worker working and Training Program. H/Se supervises the activities of community health workers (CHWs) and provide them with adequate coaching and support to ensure the quality of their work and the accuracy of their monthly reports.

 Responsibilities

For Medical Department:

 Conduct regular quality assurance visits to each assigned supported health facility in their area using MRFS standard checklist.

 Assess work quality each relevant department of health facility according to given checklist.

 Submit weekly reports to supervisor in a timely manner.

 Visit health facilities at least once a week to follow up with any issues raised by the medical team and submit a report.

 Work as a focal point for reporting of communicable diseases and investigating potential outbreaks.

 Review ambulance logs, ambulance use and their movement attached to a health facility and supported by MRFS.

 For CHW:

 Provides overall supervision of local community-based activities in his/her catchment area.

 Be able to work closely with other Team to assess internal resource needs and provide updates.

 Ensures high quality and timely implementation of community-based activities by the CHWs in his/her catchment area.

 Builds and maintains strong cooperation with CHWs to keep them informed and actively involved in community health activities.

 Builds and ensures strong partnership with health facilities in his/her catchment area.

 Ensures safe and accurate use/storage of working kits/tools provided.

 Supervise CHW team leaders and assist in evaluating each of them in addition to the Community Health Worker through documented feedback.

 Contributes to build the capacity of CHWs and Serve as mentor and coach to the Community Health Workers.

 Assist with weekly team meetings.

 Collecting the relevant data and submit monthly report including the plan, implemented activities and all required information.

 Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualification and professional competencies:

 Must be a graduate of accredited Medical College with a valid license to practice.

 Experience of CHW Program preferred.

 Compassionate, firm, consistent in working with staff and clients.

 Positive role model for team.

 Efficient communication: verbal/ written (out-going/ personable).

 S/he can provide feedback in a professional manner.

 Keeps boundaries with staff and clients.

 Minimum of 1-year experience in social service sector working with a diverse population.

 Knowledge of existing services available to clients.

 Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 Detail oriented.

 Experience with supervising staff.
