Field Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant
Location: North Syria (Atmeh)
Timeframe: 1 Sep 2022
Green hands’ Office of Humanitarian Assistance (OHA) has developed a strategy for the organization’s response to the Syria crisis, anchored in a field presence. Specifically, OHA is responding directly in Syria, intensifying GH’s assistance to Syrian IDP’s. This is being carried out through an approach to programming where projects focus on the sustainability rather than relief delivery.
GH is a fully registered organization in Turkey and are currently building its humanitarian response professionals in Turkey.
The Field Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant reports to the Field M&E Senior Officer in Syria/ Atmeh and is responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
• Documenting the M&E activities in the field and helping in editing the video material to be ready to publish.
• Collecting all quantitative and qualitative data related to the project activities.
• Preparing M&E periodic field reports.
• Conducting field visits in Atmeh and Atmeh camp to monitor the implementation of the project activities based on the M&E plan.
• Conducting interviews with various beneficiaries and stakeholders to measure the satisfaction level besides conducting or observing the focus group discussions.
• Following the success stories and lessons learned from the project implementation.
• Ensure proper documentation for all M&E activities.
• Any other duties that may be assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
• Minimum high school, preferred graduate from Institute or university.
• Strongly preferred good experience in photography and design software (such as: Adobe Apps, Filmora, DaVinci Resolve, etc.).
• Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience, preferably with an international organization.
• Past work with international donor-funded programs preferred.
• Experience carrying out M&E tasks, including survey work preferred.
• Experience working in camps or in insecure environments.
• Computer/word processing and standard office software skills good command of excel and other database applications is desirable.
• Effective analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to solve problems in the field with other actors, local committees and beneficiaries.
• Integrity, transparency, and strong work ethics.
• Ability to work under pressure and with limited supervision.
• Experience with needs and risk assessments.
• Commitment, patience, and resilience.
• Good communication skills and problem solving.
