People in Need are looking for a (Bakeries Assistant) for its mission based in NW Syria.

Position: Bakeries Assistant

Duty location: Aleppo Officer _ NW Syria

Starting date: December 2022

End of application: 17th November 2022


PIN’s Bakeries Support Program aims to reduce the bakeries input investments by provision of Flour and Yeast support to bakeries, enabling them to sell bread at subsidized, fixed prices in Northwest Syria. 


The Bakeries Support – Assistant supports the day-to-day activities implementation and monitoring/follow up of PIN’s contracted bakeries in northwest Syria. 


Where needed, the staff may be asked to support liaison and coordination between other departments to facilitate smooth implementation on the ground. 


I. Implementation

• Day-to-day follow up on the contracted bakeries’ bread production process, monitoring the quality and quantity of produced bread and tracking of inputs consumption.

• Documenting the bakeries work by filling the assigned checklist and taking pictures during the production process on daily basis 

• Visiting the bread selling points on daily basis and report on the bread package selling weight and price, and interview beneficiaries to collect their feedback as needed.

• Collecting bead production inputs prices from the covered communities’ markets on daily basis and in other areas when needed.

• Participate in needs assessments and data collection in operational areas as needed.

• Working closely with the Bakeries Support – Senior Officer to support the communications with community representatives and local councils, identify emerging needs and highlight any key issues that may affect the program activities implementation.

• Providing feedback and recommendations to line manager where needed.

• Ensures systematic filing, scanning and archiving of all documentation as per PIN’s requirements

II. Other

• Other tasks assigned by employee’s Line Manager corresponding to actual needs of the mission, programs, and projects

• Understand and adhere to the mission’s National Staff Handbook, PIN Code of Conduct, PIN Key Policies and relevant guidelines


I. Technical competencies:

• High school education / Bachelor Degree 

• 1 year of professional experience in a similar field (Bread) in the humanitarian sector (mandatory)

• Good technical experience in the bakeries support programming field (including but not limited, Bread production process in detail, machinery at a bakery, Flour and yeast specifications and quality test)

• Communications skills in Arabic (compulsory) and English (desirable)

• Proficient in basic MS office required.

• Knowledge of other applications such as Kobo (mandatory)
